Page 3 in the FAQ:


Q: [Input] Is there a limit on the number of Zones, Surfaces, Lighting, etc 
statements?

A:  Technically speaking, there is no limit to the number of Zones, 
Surfaces, etc. that EnergyPlus can process.  The input routines allocate 
according to how many of these the user enters.  Practically speaking, your 
simulation may take longer with more complex / larger numbers of these items.
