Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] - Transition program
It's described in the "Auxiliary Programs" document.
But basically, just execute it and it asks several questions:
1) Do you want only the diff of the old and new or the full input file
copied? (If you choose the full input file, the version now copies the
comments, and puts the field names for each field. -- so I almost always
choose full)
2) Do you want the units listed with the fields? (I usually choose yes)
3) Do you want to have blank default fields left blank or filled in with
the IDD defaults? (Many times, you might wish to make sure the program
uses the latest defaults itself rather than having a version of the IDD's
defaults)
Then, it asks for a fully qualified input file name. (i.e. with path).
You can enter as many input files as you wish. Just entering return
terminates the program.
The new file is stored in the same path as the original with a "difnew"
extension. Any errors that might be encountered are also in that path with
a "vcperr" extension.
Soon I will upload the zip for the latest transition program to the group
site. It will include a "readme" with essentially the above instructions
on running the program.
You can also make up a small text file with the answers above and make it
the first input (prepending with an @)
