[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: EnergyPlus validation

I have have done some benchmarks of EnergyPlus against some of the
OSU data. I found it to be time well spent as I learned a lot about
EnergyPlus and the sensitivity to the various input parameters.

The results are similar to those reported in the 2003 ASHRAE paper
by Chantrasrisalia, Lu, Fisher and Eldridge. The OSU test building
has a lot of window area and relatively high air flow rates. The
results are sensitive to the radiative heat transfer properties and
also to the inside convection cooeficient. The the CeilingDiffuser
model for inside surface heat transfer seems to work well. Both the
cooling load and the floor surface temperatures matched the
experimental data very well.
