Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] about design day and run period

Design day uses the following below input information to calculate the peak load , this same day for the run period would use this data from the weather file which would be different set of values. Depending on the variation in the design day inputs and the specifications from the weather file the load values may differ.
DesignDay,
!- DesignDayName
!- Maximum Dry-Bulb Temperature {C}
!- Daily Temperature Range {deltaC}
!- Humidity Indicating Temperature at Max Temp {C}
!- Barometric Pressure {Pa}
!- Wind Speed {m/s}
!- Wind Direction {deg}
!- Rain Indicator
!- Snow Indicator
!- Day Of Month
!- Month
!- Day Type
!- Daylight Saving Time Indicator
!- Humidity Indicating Temperature Type

Dear:

I have a question about the "DesignDay" and "RunPeriod". I have uploaded a related file named "W only enve". I calculated the envelope cooling load with the Hong Kong weather file and found that the sensible load under design day is much smaller than that of the run period, also under the run period, the load variation pattern is more reasonable.What is the reason for these?

By the way, I asked a question about the envelope cooling load calculation with CTF and MTF some days ago, does anyone can help me and give me an answer?

Thanks for all your help!

Best Regards
LI
