[EnergyPlus_Support] Internal surface

Hello.
What are the conventions to model an internal surface:
What is the inside or outside layer of the construction?
Especially you have a horizontal surface. 
Which side of the surface absorbs the beam radiation?
And what kind of surface type is it: a ceiling or a floor?
