Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Strange Sort of Error
Your real error is pointed out in an earlier warning:
** Warning ** Both Shaded Construction and Shading Device are specified
for WindowShadingControl WINSHADINGCONTROL NORTH
** ~~~ ** The Shaded Construction="DBL CLR 3MM/6MM AIR" will be used.
** Warning ** Both Shaded Construction and Shading Device are specified
for WindowShadingControl WINSHADINGCONTROL WEST
** ~~~ ** The Shaded Construction="DBL CLR 3MM/6MM AIR" will be used.
** Warning ** Both Shaded Construction and Shading Device are specified
for WindowShadingControl WINSHADINGCONTROL EAST
** ~~~ ** The Shaded Construction="DBL CLR 3MM/6MM AIR" will be used.
** Warning ** Both Shaded Construction and Shading Device are specified
for WindowShadingControl WINSHADINGCONTROL SOUTH
** ~~~ ** The Shaded Construction="SGL CLR 3MM" will be used.
** Warning ** Exterior: Potential problem in match of unshaded/shaded
constructions, shaded should have 1 more layers than unshaded.
===> Just added => ** ~~~ ** Unshaded construction=DBL CLR 3MM/6MM AIR
===> Just added => ** ~~~ ** Shaded construction=DBL CLR 3MM/6MM AIR
Because the WindowShadingControl looks like:
WindowShadingControl,
WinShadingControl EAST, !- User Supplied Shading Control Name
ExteriorShade, !- Shading Type
Dbl Clr 3mm/6mm Air, !- Name of construction with shading
OnIfHighSolarOnWindow, !- Shading Control Type
Sch Summer, !- Schedule Name
350, !- SetPoint {W/m2, W or deg C}
Yes, !- Shading Control Is Scheduled
Yes, !- Glare Control Is Active
HIGH REFLECT - LOW TRANS SHADE, !- Material Name of Shading Device
When you use "material name" for shading device, you leave the "name of
construction with shading" blank. Or, alternatively, the "name of
construction with shading" would be a construction with the shading layer
in place.
The program ignored the shading device material and kept just the window
construction which it now thought should have a shading layer.
Make all of these blank in your WindowShadingControl statments:
WindowShadingControl,
<etc>
, !- Name of construction with shading
<etc>
and it will get you past that error.
