1. Use Purchased Air to calculate peak sensible loads without describing a full
HVAC system. See example file PurchAirTables.idf
2. Yes. Describe the adjacent structures using shading surfaces.
3. The IFCtoIDF utility can facilitate this. Only geometry is transferred,
the user must then assign appropriate constructions to attach thermal
properties to the surfaces. This is an optional component in the EnergyPlus
installation, if you did not install it, reinstall with this option checked and
then see the documentation in the EnergyPlusv1-2-2\PreProcess\IFCtoIDF folder.
