RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Total Exhaust Energy Curve of IC Engine

Charlie,

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a reference for this performance curve-fit model. All I can really tell you is it came from BLAST.

I checked into the code. The total exhaust energy curve is used to determine the energy content of the exhaust stream before heat recovery as a function of the part load ratio and rate of fuel use . The model considers exhaust gas recovery after applying this curve. (It goes on to determine exhaust temperature and heat exchanger UA, applies constraints, etc. )

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Total Exhaust Energy Curve of IC Engine

Dear all

I have a question about the IC engine model in E+
Does the total exhaust energy curve consider the recoverd exhaust
energy in gas exchanger?
There is no description of the generator models. Could you please give
me some references about these two models?
Thank you in advance.

charlie
