Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Output variables
Hi Linda,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I really wish I could plot the breakdowns for the window heat gains and losses. ... I'll have a look at the new version later and see if it is possible.
Meanwhile I'm intrigued with something here.I'm modelling a multiple zone model with an internal zone which is mainly composed of internal windows that do not open. I wanted to plot the breakdowns for that windows but as I cannot I would be happy to see the window heat gains and losses. The problem is when I run the simulation these window heat gains and losses are all zero.
I'm running a free run simulation for a 3 weeks period with minimum shading. I know there's no window transmitted solar component but there should be convective heat flow, net IR heat flow and conduction . But all I get is a zero value all the time for these 2 variables (window heat gains, window heat losses). Why is this happenning? Shouldn't I be able to see the other components?
I've plotted the same results for ESP-r and the balance between the IR, conduction and convective gains is different from zero, so I assume that this results shouldn't be null. I've also checked the idf file and I am sure the windows are set as "no sun" and "no win" and they are also considered adjacent to windows identical to them that belong to the adjacent zones. So I suppose they are modelled correctly. Do you think this might me a modelling problem? Something else that I didn't check, probably? I'm quite puzzled about that, can you please give me a light about it?
I thank you very much again for your help.
Best regards,
Clarice
There were a number of variables added in V1.2.3 release, but by and
large, you can only report the variables in the RDD for your
simulation. (Also, look at or enter "Diagnostics,
DisplayAdvancedReportVariables;)
This command opens up a few more variables but you need to understand
what they do, -- hence they are "advanced".
