Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] COMIS_opening factors
1. Modulation of the vent opening can be disabled. From the Input Output
Reference, just before the field "Limit Value on Multiplier for Modulating
Venting Open Factor": Note that the default values of the following fields are
such that, if none of the fields are specified, modulation will not occur. (p.
350, pdf p. 386).
2. The only way I can think of to turn off venting when high wind or rain is
present would be to use the "Venting Schedule". By reporting the wind speed
and rain flag from a weather file run (or by converting the epw file to a csv
file), one could use a spreadsheet to create a set of schedule values which are
zero when high wind or rain is present. This set of schedule values could be
saved as a text file with 8784 rows for use with Schedule:File:Comma. NOTE:
There is a known bug: "Schedule:File:Comma only takes 8760 values. The 24
values after Feb 28 are always assumed to be for Feb 29, and Dec 31 is always
zero. For non-leap year simulations, this results in value for March 1 being
skipped and all remaining values shifting up. Workaround: A partial
workaround is to include values for Feb 29 in the csv file. This will ensure
that the March 1 values are used for March 1 and no shift occurs. But this
still results in zero values for Dec 31. There is no workaround for that part
of the problem." (This has been fixed for the next release.)
