[EnergyPlus_Support] Run without EP-Launch

Hello.

What does EP-Launch do when I click [Simulate...] button of EP-Launch?
I guess that EP-Launch makes a connection with a .idf file
and weather file and EnergyPlus.exe using xxx.bat file at that time.

And how can I run a EnergyPlus simulation if I don't use EP-Launch?
