[EnergyPlus_Support] Bugs in weather converter
Dear all,
I have been trying to convert EPW data into Ecotec's WEA format, and I
found at least two bugs in the convert tool that comes with the
EnergyPlus distribution.
1. When producing WEA monthly data from EPW data, wind speed ends
about 3-4 times smaller than it should be. Ecotect assumes that wind
speed is given in km/h, whereas E+ assumes m/s. Perhaps this is the
actual problem.
2. When producing WEA "cloud cover" hourly data, the weather tool from
E+ uses the "opaque sky cover" values from the EPW file. However, when
converting the EPW file using ecotect's weather tool, "total sky
cover" values from EPW were used instead. Which of these is wrong?
Cheers,
Jose'
