[EnergyPlus_Support] Geometry
Dear All,
Thank you for helping me out with the zone multiplier query. I am
interested to enquire how you define a building. However presumable
when modelling you do not enter every coordinate be it ground floor,
middle floors and top floor. Which front end to EnergyPlus is most
accurate in both defining a building's geometry, splitting it into
seperately controlled zone and defining the HVAC characteristics of
these zones?
Do you use a mixture of both i.e. define the geometry in a third party
tool and define the HVAC within EPLaunch? Is it currently possible to
translate a Revit Systems IFC file to an IDF file?
Also how reliable is the DOE2 Translator? I know it states that it
does not translate everything but I have attempted to translate one or
two files and very little appeared to translate.
I'm really eager to get to know and apply EnergyPlus as an energy
modelling tool and would appreciate any advice.
Regards,
Kevin
