Hi Noel,

Be aware that microsoft access is also limited in 256 columns in each table so you have to slipt your csv file before going there or you'll end up having the same troubles you have with Excel.

Dear all,

My question pertains to the output file generated by EnergyPlus, 
specifically the CSV file. The amount of information that needs to be 
analyzed with each simulation run exceeds the columns available (255) 
in Excel. To resolve this issue, I have contemplated using Microsoft 
Access which seems to be more capable of handling the large amount of 
information. In addition, it seems that Access has some features that 
allow it to easily generate reports giving it an advantage over 
Excel. Does anyone have any experience or advice they can share in 
using Microsoft Access instead of Excel to view and analyze output 
data from EnergyPlus? Does this have any advantages or does in 
compromise the data? Thank you in advance for your help.
