[EnergyPlus_Support] results related to a vent facade simulation
Dear Griffith and Energy Plus support,
I am trying to understand for a building in Milan what is the best envelope.
So I am simulating:
1) a light insulated wall
2) a light insulated wall with ventilated facade
3) a massive insulated wall
4) a massive insulated wall with ventilated facade
>From previous experiment I got that the ventilated facade decreases cooling
loads.
But the second case (I do not understand why) it is unrealistically
increasing those.
I am sure there is something wrong, and i am getting crazy to understand
what.
(looking at the inner Wall surface temperatures seems that the envelope
applying a ventilated facade avoid every heat losses, but the point is: why
this is not happening with the massive wall?)
or.. ..you think this result could be true?
Please download an excel file and two IDF, the light wall and the light
ventilated wall that I put on line.
Thanks a lot!
Regards.
Emanuele
