I would suggest reading the Input Output Reference section "HVAC: Primary and 
Secondary Systems" beginning on page 356 (pdf p. 394).  There are many example 
files in the ExampleFiles folder which show how to assemble systems.  COMPACT 
HVAC:* objects (see Input Output Reference) also provide a shorthand way of 
describing systems.
