Not really.  I am on the hook for writing a "basics" manual this year 
(due for the October release) but quite sure how to tackle it -- any 
suggestions are appreciated.

I'm not a good person to ask.  Personally, I would probably use some 
tool like DesignBuilder to do the building geometry, which is always 
a pain to do.  Then, I would look to the Compact HVAC systems which 
will help you build up a system.  (and it creates an IDF so you can 
pick that up and hopefully learn from it).
