[EnergyPlus_Support] *.Rvi File Question

My current problem is trying to force the contents of certain 
variables to a specific *.csv column. This would allow me to process 
the values with the excel file using very basic cell referencing. I 
have seen some discussions about the *.rvi file on this group. It 
seems as if this file could be used this to force the column order of 
variables listed in *.csv file. Is this correct? Does anyone know of a 
better way? For example some way of ordering variables that could be 
performed within the imf/idf files.
