Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] No Chilled or Hot water flow through coils.
1. Looking in the err output file, I see many interzone surface errors. It is
important to fix these.
2. Looking in the eio output file, I see that the "Maximum air flow rate" and
"Max Reheat Water Flow" are sized to zero for all 6 VAV terminal units.
3. Looking in the idf file, there are sizing objects, but only the outside air
controller, the vav terminal units, and the plant loop contain an "autosize"
input. There are numeric inputs for all other flow rates and capacities. In
general, it does not work well to mix and match hard values with auotsized
values. As I look at the airflow rates in the branch, air primary loop, fan,
and coil objects, they do not appear to be consistent. Note that max flow rate
is ignored for water branches, so these do not matter.
4. In the err file . . .
** Warning ** The following lines are "Orphan Objects". These objects are
in the idf
** ~~~ ** file but are never obtained by the simulation and therefore
are NOT used.
** ~~~ ** See InputOutputReference document for more details.
************* Object=CONTROLLER LIST=DA-CTRL-EX1
When using a vav terminal unit, there is no need for CONTROLLER:SIMPLE objects
on the reheat coils. These are controlled directly by the VAV terminal unit.
So, I deleted all of the controllers and controller lists related to the reheat
coils. Then I noticed that the controllers for the preheat coils were not
listed in the controller lists, so I added them.
The orphan objects error is gone, but the terminal units are still sizing to
zero flow. I cannot explain this, and I will have to forward this to another
team member to figure out what is wrong.
