[EnergyPlus_Support] ECOTECT VS DESIGNBUILDER -

Dear EPLUS users,

After spending hard time studying some of the main I/O Reference
manual chapters, i´ve decided to choose one from the two most spoked
graphical interfaces for export to EnergyPlus, ECOTECT and
DESIGNBUILDER. I´ve done the tutorials of both, tried a few simple
geometry export idf to EPLUS and found that the two have problems that
represent additional work on the idf file. DesignBuilder as the
advantage to export HVAC equipment to EPLUS however i can add it
directly in the EPLUS idf editor. ECOTECT doesn´t have the HVAC
option, but it seems to me that ECOTECT is better for geometry export,
it has less "garbage" to clean after the geometry export and the
precision of geometry modelling is also better I think.

I´m having hard time to decided which one to use from now on, and I
would like to know about EnergyPlus users opinions, regarding their
experiences with these softwares.

- Which one is better for export?

- Is there any other software which you think the eport idf procedure
brings more advantages?

My thank´s to the Support Group and to all the EnergyPlus users, i´ve
learned a lot with your questions and answers.
Thank you very much
Regards
Nuno Brandão
