RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Use of EnergyPlus for simulation of cold storage facilities

Randall,

My experience is that the current HVAC system models in EnergyPlus have
a hard time directly modeling these sorts of zone temperatures. The
program is designed around conditioning zones for more typical
situations.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Use of EnergyPlus for simulation of cold
storage facilities

We are evaluating EnergyPlus for our use in design/simulation. One of
the types of buildings that we want to simulate is cold storage
facilities operating down to -50 F. Is EnergyPlus capable of doing this
including high insulation level in roof, walls and floors?

Another use we would have for the program is skylighting. Does it have
that capabilities?

Third what is a good way to become familiar with the program? Any
particular books, manuals, interface tools, etc.?
