Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] free cooling questions

1. For your purchased air simulation (and probably in general for a commercial
building) I would use the dual setpoint thermostat control (control type=4) all
year. This will automatically switch between heating and cooling as needed,
regardless of time of year.

2. How to schedule free cooling heat exchanger? I see the documentation is
not very clear. If I understand correctly, the first field named "Setpoint
Schedule" is used along with "Free Cooling Control Mode" to determine if the
heat exchanger should operate. In the Input Output Reference, the description
of this is under the second field names "Setpoint Schedule" which is now an
unused filed, but the I/O ref was not updated to reflect this. If this does
not work, let me know, and I will check with the model developer.

3. Instead of using HEAT EXCHANGER:HYDRONIC:FREE COOLING, you may find it
easier to use the new feature HEAT EXCHANGER:WATERSIDE ECONOMIZER.
