[EnergyPlus_Support] Loba IDF

Hello Mike,

after your observations, I reviewed the inputs but I
still have many problems with air temperature control. I also checked
the message stated in the svg file (ERROR - COULD NOT COMPLETE DRAWING!
Examine ERR file for possible explanation. Last error message is: "No
node connection found after the following object: FAN COIL HW COIL"),
but I did not find any error related to this issue.

Here there are the main informations about HVAC system and controls.*

This is a constant volume airsystem. It supplies air between 20°C and
26°C ( SETPOINT MANAGER:SCHEDULE:DUALSETPOINT). It controls humidity in
the space, trying to set it close to a value of 50% of relative
humidity. Remaining load in the zone are met by zone equipment.

This is a constant volume system and supplies air between 15°C and 40°C
( SETPOINT MANAGER:SCHEDULE:DUALSETPOINT). It controls humidity in the
space, trying to set it close to a value of 50% of relative humidity.
There are not more equipment able to control the zone temperature, so
this system is the only one that can heat and cool the zone, reaching
the setpoint. Moreover, It has a VENTILATION:MECHANICAL object to
control the minimum outdoor air flow rate.

*Zone Equipment

*Air distribution unit for each air loop is DIRECT AIR object.

Zone 3596. In this zone there is a FAN COIL UNIT:4 PIPE, able to meet
all remaing load in the zone.

Zone 3200. In this zone there is a low temperature radiant system to
meet all other load not met by air loop.

Zone 2952. There's no other equipment.

*Setpoint*

Heating setpoint: 20 °C

Cooling setpoint: 26°C

Relative humidity in the zone should be near to 50%

Each zone has the same heating and cooling setpoint, as well for
humidity control. In every zone there is thermostat and humidistat.

Thank you very much for your useful help.

Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] zone air temperature /

/ /

/Based on a brief review of the inputs, zone 3596 is the only zone with
valid

inputs. The other zones have different types of systems and each has
different

issues. For example, Zone 2952 is served by a DIRECT AIR (constant volume)

terminal unit and the air loop has a fixed supply temperature setpoint.
This

system has no capability to control space temperature. There are alos no

controllers for any of the chilled water coils; only the fan coil
chilled water

coil will operate. And the svg system diagram does not draw, which is
usually

an indication that there is some type of connection error. Please send
an e-

mail to energyplus-support describing the system types and controls, and
I will

help you fix the input file.

HI All,

I have some problems with the air temperature of zones.

Only in one zone (zone 3596), the heating setpoint (20°C) is reached,

but in the other two ( 3200, 2952), the air temperature is always

lower than it. The opposite thing happens with cooling: in the zone

3200 and 2952, the air temperature goes beyond the cooling setpoint

(26°C).

I tried to increase the boilers and chillers' nominal capacity with a

higher value, but nothing changed.

Apparently, idf seems to be ok. After simulation, there are many

warnings of this type: " Base surface does not surround subsurface,

overlap status=no overlap":are they related with this temperature problem?

I don't know how to solve it. Could you help me?

My .IDF has been uploaded under Files/Problem Submittals/Loba air

temperature.idf .

Kind regards
