Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Extraction ventilators
2 options -
1. If the zone with the exhaust fan is served with a COMPACT HVAC
system, then you must run a simulation using the idf with COMPACT HVAC
objects, then take the expidf output file from that run, rename it to a
new filename.idf, and edit to add a ZONE EXHAUST FAN object and add it
to the ZONE EQUIPMENT LIST for that zone.
2. If the zone with the exhaust fan is *not* served with a COMPACT HVAC
system, the you may add the ZONE EXHAUST FAN object in your base idf
file (the one containing COMPACT HVAC objects for other zones.). In
this case, you will need to create a CONTROLLED ZONE EQUIP CONFIGURATION
object, a ZONE EQUIPMENT LIST, and the ZONE EXHAUST FAN. Note, however,
that an exhaust fan in a zone not served by a central HVAC system will
not automatically cause fresh air to enter the building. You must add
INFILTRATION or MIXING from another zone to balance this.
