RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] air stratification

EnergyPlus will not compute the difference in stratification that results
from different locations of a supply outlet.  Or from any other cause, for
that matter.  

 

EnergyPlus does have available ROOMAIR models which allow you to examine the
energy impacts of thermal stratification which you have input.  The
stratification can be fixed (constant) or variable based on a factor such as
indoor-outdoor temperature difference, but you need to describe the
stratification pattern in the input.  See the I/O reference for details on
all the options available.

Hi All
Does E+ model the temperature stratification within a thermal zone? Eg would
it make any difference to the air temperature where an air outlet was placed
- high or low.
