There are a couple of approaches you can take for "starting".

One is to review/practice the exercises that are contained in the 
Getting Started manual.  While it's not directly for your building, 
it will give you a good introduction to EnergyPlus and use.

When you are ready to try out your building, usually the geometry 
entry is the most daunting -- the newly release Sketchup Interface 
should help that a lot.  It can use the Sketchup that is free from 
Google.  Once you have built your geometry in Sketchup, you can add 
systems things using IDFEditor.  The Compact HVAC objects will again 
give you lots of assistance.

Or, you can go with one of the interfaces that can be used with 
EnergyPlus such as Design Builder.  Or the example file generator 
that is (again) free from NREL.

You can find links to these in the links area on the Yahoo group 
website or from the EnergyPlus website.
