Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Modelling Cross-Flow Heat Recovery Systems

A quick review of the IO Reference (version 2.2) shows that following
compact HVAC objects includes the ability to model an air-to-air heat
recovery system:

Compact HVAC:System:Unitary
Compact HVAC:System:VAV

There may be others as well, so suggest you consult the IO Reference.

Other places to look include the example files:

HVACStandAloneERV_Economizer.idf
TermRhGenericOAHeatRecMinExh.idf <cid:part1.00090905.08050201@fsec.ucf.edu>
TermRhGenericOAHeatRecPreheat.idf <cid:part2.01090309.05030006@fsec.ucf.edu>
etc.

Search for Heat Exchanger:Air To Air:Generic or Heat Exchanger:Air To
Air:Flat Plate in the documentation and example files.

> Dear All,
>
> I'm performing a simulation of small building which as an air-to-air
> heat recovery system ventilation(HRV)with a cross flow heat exchanger,
> commonly used in passive houses.
> Which is the best way to simulate this kind of system? Is it possible
> using the COMPACT HVAC objects?
>
> Thanks for the help
