RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Water Mains Temperatures

Hi Alan,

The max difference is for over the entire year. You can use the .stat file to figure this out (although it does not explicitly call it out). Taking for example the file "USA_IL_Chicago-OHare_TMY2.stat", find the line called "Monthly Statistics for Dry Bulb temperatures". Now find the line below that called "Daily Avg" which is what is referred to as the "monthly average outdoor air temperature" in the documentation. Here it is reproduced below:

	Daily Avg -4.6 -2.2 1.6 8.4 15.3 21.1 23.5 21.8 18.1 11.7 4.2 -2.6

Finally, find the maximum difference between these, in this case it is 23.5-(-4.6) = 28.1 deltaC This is your "maximum difference in monthly average outdoor air temperatures".

Could someone elaborate on these two variables for the correlation
calculation. I believe the avg outdoor air temperature is fairly
straight forward, however I am unclear what the max difference refers
too. Max difference in the month? the year? does the .stat or .ddy
explicitly call out these variables? Thanks.

* average annual outdoor air temperature (dry-bulb)
* maximum difference in monthly average outdoor air temperatures
