RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Deisgn Builder Time Steps Lost; ZenoPosting Trial.

DesignBuilder uses a fixed 2 timesteps per hour in the heating design calcs. Remember it is a steady-state simulation that continues until convergence so the number of time steps is not a significant parameter.

As explained previously when you see only 'Display' and 'Drawing tools' tabs in the Model options dialog it's because you are at site level and these are the only site level options. So click on the building icon in the navigator panel on the left to go to your building and press F-11 again. You should now be able to access all the tabs (apart from 'block' for which you need to be at block level or below).

Hi;

I can't find a way to change the incorrect (2) number of time steps after entering
the model.  The formal names for programming variables don't correspond to
any text string seen on the screen..... 'Microsoft' problem.  There are instructions
as to what to change in the help files, there's just no content that tells you how to
get to that particular window....  F-11 brings up OPTIONs  but all but two tabs are
greyed out  .....

<< not me really is a comment; I never chose 2 time steps per hour.

Hi John,

Could you explain further what you mean by:

Are you referring to an error message displayed by DB?

When you see only Display and Drawing tools tabs in the Model options dialog
it's because you are at site level and these are the only site level options
(the rest of the model options being related to buildings are only available
when you are at building level or below).

There are no restrictions with the demo version of DB so this is not the
cause.

Hi;

I created a model of a Building using Design Builder 1.5.

On running the Winter Design Day the program came back with

"2 time steps per hour" << not me really.

So I hit F-11 the options ...... and.... Only 2 of the tabs weren't
greyed out.
Display and ???

Anyway the meat of the matter was not available for alterations.

Is this because I have a DEMO version ?? or does everybody with Design
Builder have
this problem.

This is also a test sending an unrecognized return Email address into
the Yahoo !! hopper.

bye.
