[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Max number of zones

Dear Eric,

"Possible" and "practical" are two different animals unless you're
running analyses on a supercomputer.

A good practice is to run only Design Days or a very limited weather
year until you've got a solid, error-free model. Even if you do that,
you still end up running the full weather year model for various
system or construction options. A very large model could conceivably
take hours to run; that's a long time to wait!

I have a Windows XP 1.7GHz Core Duo processor with 2GB SDRAM, and it
takes 8-10 minutes to run an entire weather year for a 3 story
building with ~20 zones, 2 water systems and 5 Air systems.

Your "mileage may vary" depending on your goals. Think about it!
