[EnergyPlus_Support] Maximum gap between adjacent surfaces

Hi everyone,

I am doing an export from a parametric software to EPlus and was wondering what would be the maximum gap between to adjacent surfaces that would still allow them to be considered adjacent.

That means, what would be the maximum distance between 2 adjacent surfaces that would still enable their outside surface environment to be considered "OtherZoneSurface" rather than "OutsideFaceEnvironment".

Doing some experiments I notice that it seems to be 1mm, but can someone please confirm that to me? This is an important limit as some parametric software do not allow wall thickness to be null.

Thank you in advance for the help and hope hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Clarice
