To Export compact ifd file from Design Builder, you have to go:

 

File -> Export -> Export energyplus idf file -> simulation

 

Than you can open in Idf editor or run the simulation in EP-lunch

I think you need to ask the DesignBuilder folk how to export a file you can then run in EnergyPlus.

Once you have that, we may be able to  help.
