Sundaram,
Look
for the compact.idf file under EnergyPlus folder. EnergyPlus folder can
be accessed through File/Folders/EnergyPlus Folder. This folder gets
updated with every simulation in DesignBuilder so you may want to copy this file.

To Export compact ifd file from Design Builder, you have to
go:
File -> Export -> Export energyplus idf file ->
simulation
Than you can open in Idf editor or run the simulation in
EP-lunch

I think you need to ask the DesignBuilder folk how to export a file you can
then run in EnergyPlus.
Once you have that, we may be able to help.
