The main advantage of TMY3 is that they are available at many more sites
than TMY2. But at common sites, I would not quality TMY3 as "better"
than TMY2 without further investigation. There is a number of things at
play here, including very different methodologies in the underlying met
and radiation data, different assumptions and limitations, etc. There
are sites where TMY2 is most probably "better" than TMY3. I strongly
recommend not to dump TMY2 until this is all sorted out.
