[EnergyPlus_Support] Auxiliary Program : Basements - 3D
My questions are about the auxiliary Program Basements-3D.
Could you please explain the difference between the following fields?
?X BldgData Object : Floor Slab thickness (typical value
2,5)
?X EquivSlab Object : SlabDepth: Thickness of the
floor slab (typical value 0,1)
I guess one of these corresponds to the thickness of the ¡§roof¡¨ of
the basement and the other to the floor. But I don¡¦t know which is
which.
Another thing is that it seems that the field ¡§Floor Slab thickness¡¨
in the ¡§BldgData Object¡¨ doesn¡¦t admit values smaller than 0.2. The
program tries to calculate, after half an hour it gives a result but
there are not temperatures but ¡§NA¡¨ values. I would suggest
specifying that in the definition of the field in the ¡§Description of
the objects¡¨ chapter.
In the ¡§Interior Object¡¨, the first field specifies if the basement
is conditioned or not. I have been trying and it seems that although
we chose ¡§false¡¨, the program always considers the temperature in
the ¡§ComBldg Object¡¨. So the only way to determine the temperatures
in an unconditioned basement is to first impose the air basement
temperature and then use the results of running ¡§basements¡¨ in an E+
file to find the air basement temperature and do this process until
it converges. Is it right?
Thanks for answering as soon as possible.
Laurence.
