[EnergyPlus_Support] DATA Center simulation



Dear all,

I´m simulating a DATA CENTER.The system consists in VAV units supplied by a chilled water loop, with chillers and variable speed pumps and a condenser loop with a cooling tower with a variable speed pump also. The building as only cooling loads.

For the system simulation, I build the model by hand not using the HVACTEMPLATE objects. The simulation results, shows a very high energy consumption for the cooling tower pump. 

I found that using the HVACTEMPLATE:PLANT:CHILLEDWATERLOOP for the "chilled water pump configuration", I can control the PUMP using the "CONSTANT PRIMARY VARIABLE SECONDARY" option which seems to define variable flow trough the coils and constant flow for the chillers with bypass option. 


Questions:
#1. Is the high energy consumption for the cooling tower pump related to the PUMP control?

#2. Besides the HVACTEMPLATE option mentioned above, in which specific object can I define the PUMP control?
