Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] problem in heating water loop

hi

Like your case also I have simulated one model, but have't specified any boiler avilability schedule for boiler. I guess that E+ engine run automatically boiler imediately outdoor air temperature fall below 5C, while above 5C heat pump water heater is availble.
In my model case have used water heater mixed boiler (Water heater and thermal storage) with heater fuel type electricity, and from output variables see that it work corectly when outdoor temperature is below 5 C.

I dont know how you have modeled in your case, have you used simple boiler at plant heating and cooling equipment ?
or have also modeled like my model case.

If you have modeled with simple boiler, I would like to know how you have modelled (branch connections) if is possible, just to learn how you have modeled !

dear all,

I'm modelling a low temperature radiant system in witch hot water must be supplied by an air to water heat pump water heater, and a boiler.

in my water loop, i put the heat pump, the boiler, and a bypass in parallel after the circulation pump's branch.

the problem is : how can i schedule the boiler to work just when the outdoor drybulb temperature is below 5°C, and the heat pump when it's above 5°C.

sadely, the possibility to specify a boiler availability based on outdoor temperature (PlantEquipmentOper ation:OutdoorDry Bulb), is supported only by condenser loops, and not by a plant loop.

Thanks in advance.
