This the reason why I have post a few messages in the last few days on this subject. Any of you who need help have to be more specific on what you wanted to do, and how much you can do yourself. Sending me your IDF is the best way to show me the problem area. I am a retired Engineering Professor and have time to help some of you, if your probjem is not too completed, as I am also learning myself. ------------------------------- First, do you have a building? If you do not, select one from the 1zone examples in he examples folder. 1ZoneUncontrolled_DDChanges.idf has a problem, because the floor and the roof entries are missing. It is too advance for a beginer. (Linda, you may wante to have a look at this. After I copied the roof and floor and their construction and material info from the other IDF into this, it completed the simulation. Should the floor be facing ground and not to itself?) 1ZoneEvapCooler.idf is simple in zone number, but the concept is a bit advanced, because it used an available schedule to control a object which is not normally controlled. If you can master this one, you can do more. The room use outside air for ventelation and the evapolation cooling for cooling, when the outdoor temperature is higher. Some one had copy this example for schedules and got into trouble, because the way of using the schedule is for a special arrangement. 1ZoneUncontrolled.idf provide you with a building of one zone and no equipment. Running this example will show you how the temperature will change in the building through the year, with no HVAC. You can use this as your building to test any of the equipment you would like to add. The schedule may be confusing to some beginers, because the long format are given together with the combact schedule. 1ZoneUncontrolled_win_1.idf has a window, and you can study the effect sun radiation in the room temperature. (TRansmittance of window) This is probable the best one to use as a starting building structure, for adding equipment. Send me or post your IDF, if after adding your equipment and the simulation failed. Do not be afraid to make mistake. Without making any mistake, you will not know how the computer can communicate with you with the error messages.
