[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Error message

A storm window is generally a second pane of glass in a compact frame that is mounted on the exterior of the "regular" window during the winter / heating season. Sometimes the storm window is removed during the warm weather so that the window may be opened for ventilation.

This is fairly common in the Northern climates of the USA for older homes. It's not seen very often on newer homes and is almost never seen on commercial buildings.

While a storm window can provide somewhat improved insulation value and reduced infiltration, there is no performance standard and it would be very difficult to predict performance due to the wide variety of installation practices.
