RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] How to add a hot water tank in my simulation

No.  The source side outlet node cannot have a lower temperature than the tank.  Heat does not flow that direction.

It sounds like what you have are design temperatures, not necessarily operating temperatures.

With the water tanks, you can introduce a simple effectiveness value to model the presence of a heat exchanger but that would move the outlet temperatures even higher.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] How to add a hot water tank in my simulation

Hello.

I need to introduce a a thermal storage tank in my simulation.

In the source side the inlet node has water at 83ºC. In the outlet node i need to have a minimum of 40ºC.

In the use side, i need the maximum temperature as possible like 80ºC in order to heat a greenhouse with some radiators.

I my problem is that the temperature in the source outlet node is the temperature of the tank. And the temperature of the source inlet node is always rising.

If I define a setpoint temperature of the tank to the 70ºC, the source outlet temperature become 70ºC and not the 40ºC that I need. In the use side, the temperature in the inlet node is 20ºC and 70ºC in the outlet.

What I need is a heat exchanger that change the heat to the use side and only decrease the temperature 40ºC.

Is that possible?
