What does your subject mean "leads to failure"?

Transparent means that your shading device is fully transparent (i.e. not
shading).  The schedule values are "transmittance" -- that is 0 is opaque,
1 is transparent.

This is likely described in the IO Reference on the shading devices and
scheduling.
