There is limited wildcarding available for producing report variables.

(basic answer to your question is no).

I think Eleni has figured out a bit and how to get the > 250 vars into a csv file.  We want to put some advanced topics into the apps guides for next release that would concern running ReadVars more than once after a simulation to get specific reporting into different csv files.

Anyway, the limited wildcarding would be something along the lines of:

Output:Variable,*,Lights*,monthly;

"should" give:

Zone,Average,Lights Electric Power [W]
Zone,Sum,Lights Radiant Heat Gain [J]
Zone,Sum,Lights Visible Heat Gain [J]
Zone,Sum,Lights Convective Heat Gain [J]
Zone,Sum,Lights Return Air Heat Gain [J]
Zone,Sum,Lights Total Heat Gain [J]
Zone,Sum,Lights Electric Consumption [J]

or Zone* should give (into the eso file) all output variables starting with the word Zone.

I say should because I haven't looked at it in a while.

I tried " Output:Variable,*, *,hourly; " , and it did not work.
 
Pasting the IDF format  .rdd file into the  .RVI file of the same file name as the IDF file during simulation also did not work well.

I will guide Eleni through his problem, if he will provide more specific questions, or attach his .RVI file, and any new batch files he has added.
 
I have seen the DOS screen flashes and disappeared.  The problem is due to Microsoft changing the way to run DOS applications.

Did you try the EP-Launch option to increase the limit of variables that go into the csv files?

Yes, I can help but it may be worthwhile to explore other options first.
