This isn't a direct answer to your question, but another good way to obtain IDF data from an ArchiCAD model is through the DesignBuilder interface using gbXML export. You can see an example of a building model imported directly from ArchiCAD into DesignBuilder on our website:

DesignBuilder has a mature IDF export function.

You can set up constructions, glazing, lighting, HVAC etc within DesignBuilder either simply by loading data from templates at building level or by going into more detail, zone by zone.

Hello everyone,

Generally, I'm working in ArchiCAD. In order to use EnergyPlus, I started to use SketchUp as a graphical interface. I just recently heard about the possibility to use ArchiCAD as a graphical interface using the IFC export option.

Unfortunately, there's no IFC import option in EnergyPlus.

Does anyone know how to install this plug-in for EnergyPlus or where to find it? No matter which web-page I was looking at it doesn't seem to exist anymore...

I appreciate your help.
