I have modeled a building with an unconditioned courtyard and assigned a Variable Air Volume system with reheat. This building also has an unconditioned basement. I have also run this building with Ideal loads air system and determined the peak days for heating and cooling requirement based on the loads. I then sized the air loop and plant loop components for those peak days. For some reason, I am receiving this warning in my runs:
** Warning ** The design coil load is zero for Coil:Heating:Water 310E97 REHEAT COIL
** ~~~ ** The autosize value for maximum water flow rate is zero
** ~~~ ** To change this, input a value for UA, change the heating design day, or lower
** ~~~ ** the system heating design supply air temperature
I have realized that a similar question was posted on this warning before so I already followed the recommendations of the support team. Based on these recommendations, I made sure that there is no internal load (lights, equipment and people) in the building during the heating design day that would lower the heating requirement down. I assigned a reasonable infiltration value for each zone using one of the available simple infiltration models of EnergyPlus. I also tried the solutions recommended by the warning above. However, none of these efforts worked and I am still receiving this warning. In addition, when I checked the zone temperatures obtained from a yearly run with the autosized system, I realized that they were definitely not meeting the assigned setpoints. Could you please take a look at the attached file and let me know what might I be missing? What should I change to size the airloop and waterloop reasonably?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Simge Andolsun
