Sounds like an Ectotect issue.  Ectotect creates a very old version of EnergyPlus IDF. Did you transition the IDF file to the version of EnergyPlus that you are using? Get the multi-version transition program from here.: http://energyplus.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view

 

If that doesn't fix, then look at the documentation on schedules in the Input-Output Reference Guide (installed when you installed EnergyPlus).
