| Hello, I hope this finds you well. Could you please help me with installing Energyplus 5 linux version on ubuntu 8.10? I iinstalled the EnergyPlus 5 into the /usr/local and link the symbolic path to /usr/local/bin. The installation seems to be completed successfully. However, when I tried to run the following command, I received the error shown below: % runenergyplus --help % energyplus --help % readvarseso --help Trying to display error: " ** Fatal ** ShowErrorMessage: Could not open file "eplusout.err" for output (write)." Trying to display error: " ** Fatal ** ShowErrorMessage: Could not open file "eplusout.err" for output (write)." Trying to display error: " ** Fatal ** ShowErrorMessage: Could not open file "eplusout.err" for output (write)." Trying to display error: " ** Fatal ** ShowErrorMessage: Could not open file "eplusout.err" for output (write)." Trying to display error: " ** Fatal ** ShowErrorMessage: Could not open file "eplusout.err" for output (write)." Segmentation fault I tried checking the permission issue, but it seems to not fix it.
