You didn't say whether the 3rd case has lower/higher heating energy than 
the 1st case, only that the 2nd case is lower than both of these. The 
switchable glazing can help to retain heat (can reduce glazing heat 
loss). It would be a trade off on solar heat gain vs glazing heat loss 
You should look more closely at available report variables (*.rdd) to 
further investigate.
