If your coil is not adding any demand to the plant loop, and the pump's control type is defined as Intermittent, then it should turn off when it is not needed, assuming the coil(s) are the only thing on the demand side of the loop, and your {boilers?} are not forced to be running.

I have defined HVAC for which my fan is always off for the sake of code compliance (building is naturally ventilated). I just hope that the pump is not going to pump water through the coil when the fan is off.
