[EnergyPlus_Support] RE: Radiation heat transfer when using SurfaceProperty:ConvectionCoefficients

Dear Andy,

It may be easier to set up the convection coefficient with the value of the combined (convection+radiation) coefficient and at the same time configure the emittance of the material (called "Thermal Absorptance" in EnergyPlus) to zero (0) or near zero (0.001) to avoid numerical warnings. I think this will be an acceptable solution for these tests and it seems to work with EnergyPlus.

Best regards,
Georgios

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Radiation heat transfer when using SurfaceProperty:ConvectionCoefficients

DesignBuilder are putting our EnergyPlus UI software through the CIBSE TM33 tests and have come across some issues which are confusing us.

1. In order to match our model with the models used to generate the TM33 acceptable min/max range output values we have been fixing external and internal convective heat transfer coefficient data to CIBSE values using idf data such as:

SurfaceProperty:ConvectionCoefficients, S_16_0_0_0,
      Outside,
      Value,
       19.87,
