[EnergyPlus_Support] introducing HeatExchanger with ZoneHVAC:PackagedTerminalAirConditioner

Hi,
Which is the best way for introducing a HeatExchanger when using ZoneHVAC:PackagedTerminalAirConditioner?
The ZoneHVAC:PackagedTerminalAirConditioner manages an OutdoorAir:Mixer, that is the object where a HeatExchanger could be integrated. However, the ZoneHVAC:PackagedTerminalAirConditioner object internally implements the functinons of the Controller:OutdoorAir and AirLoopHVAC:OutdoorAIrSystem:EquipmentList objects, which should also interact with the HeatExchanger object, and therefore I am afraid that the model is not flexible enough to incorporate a HeatExchanger object. Is it right?
Is the only possibility to introduce an addicional ZoneHVAC:EnergyRecoveryVentilator duplicating the zone equipment?
Thanks,
